You Can Make a Difference in a Child’s Life this Holiday Season

As we embark on the joyous holiday season, our hearts swell with gratitude for the warmth and generosity that define our community. It is with great excitement and pride that I share news of our town’s role as a dedicated collection site for the United States Marine Corps Reserve  Toys for Tots program once again this year.

While walking through Town Hall, and witnessing the overflowing collection boxes, I am moved by the spirit of giving that permeates every corner of our town. The joy radiating from these boxes is a testament to the compassion that defines us as a community. However, our mission is far from complete, and I extend a heartfelt invitation to each of you to join us in making a lasting impact.

Consider this a personal plea to participate in this year’s Toys for Tots program. The magic of the season lies not just in the twinkling lights and festive decorations, but in the shared moments of kindness and compassion. If you are able, please bring a new, unwrapped toy to Town Hall at 7820 Broadway through December 8th, a gesture that could bring immense joy to a child’s heart.

My wife, Jodi, and I recently embarked on a shopping adventure for these special gifts. Though our own family has grown beyond the age of toy-filled holidays, the experience was a delightful reminder of the enchanting world of children’s imaginations. We marveled at the diverse and exciting array of toys available today, even discovering the return of TROLL dolls – a nostalgic surprise that brought a smile to our faces.

Two collection boxes eagerly await your contributions in the Town Hall foyer, accompanied by additional boxes within the Town Council meeting room. Should these boxes brim with the kindness of our community, don’t hesitate to place your gifts beside them. We’ll ensure every donation finds its way into the hands of the Toys for Tots workers who will deliver them to those in need.

In our abundance, let us not forget the power we hold to brighten the holiday season for those less fortunate. As we gather with loved ones to give thanks, let this be a reminder to extend our blessings to others. Your participation, no matter how small, can make a world of difference in someone’s life.

With sincere gratitude for your consideration and warmest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving

-Rick Bella, Town Council President – Ward 5 Representative
