Save the Date of June 17th for this year’s Juneteenth Freedom Festival. The Saturday event is from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center at 6600 Broadway. Performing this year will be DJ T. Black, who will provide music and serve as the MC for the day. The Steven Mann Band will also be performing as well as the Voices of Love Gospel Choir.

We will have several Corvette cars on display. The Community Healthnet Tent will be on site and the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Indiana will have a S.T.E.M. display. Jeremey Pekarek of Indiana University, Archivist, is setting up an educational display for the festival.

There will also be food and drinks, bouncy houses for the kids, a Juneteenth History Exhibit as well as local vendors displaying and selling their products. I hope you can join us for a celebration of freedom and resilience!
