The building closures include the Merrillville Municipal Complex aka Town Hall, the Pruzin Center operated by the Parks Department, the Stormwater Management Resource Center, and the Public Works Department.

During this time: all town offices will be operational with employees working from home, during normal business hours but, only available to answer phone calls and emails – no walk-ins.

All police, fire emergency services will remain operational as normal. All regularly scheduled public meetings have been suspended until April 6, 2020. The Building department will be reviewing applications for all building permits. Inspections will continue as needed and requested. Call 219-769-3631 directly to find out more details on this process.

Naturally, the situation is very fluid, and the town will react to the changing conditions as needed or ordered by the State of Federal Government. This order will be in effect until further notice. The April 6th date will be reviewed to make sure opening our buildings will not be a threat to our residents and visitors. Adjustments will be made as needed.
